This could have ended poorly

Yesterday, as occasionally happens, I felt something drop into the openings of my helmet while I was riding on a local trail. Often times that’s some berry or nut from a tree, occasionally an insect.
I reached into the opening trying to dislodge it. Then I felt it move. I freaked out a bit, pulled over while it was moving pretty frantically and took off my helmet.
It was a fucking bee.

In the late 60s and early 70s snap on bubble visors covering the face were common among small displacement motorcyclists and moto-crossers. A friend of mine who had a street version Kawasaki 90 sported one until one day a yellow jacket wasp managed to get in underneath while he was riding. All ended well, but from then on he dispensed with the visor and wore goggles. The bubble visor ended up behind him on the road or someone’s front lawn. He never bothered to check or look for the wasp.
Glad it worked well for you also, jon.
