Lori Anderson ... that name sounds somewhat familiar to me but ultimately I cannot remember anything specific about it.

Hmmm. So, I had a girlfriend die: Apple. In those days I talked a lot of smack, slapping down the liberals, fightin' for the conservatives. All in fun. Not taking it all too much seriously. I added a lot of "personalities," for fun, too. (I once had one of my "personalities" reprimand another "personality" for bad behavior on WTF!--we wrote ourselves long posts.)
Anyway, Apple took me seriously, I guess, kind of, but REALLY. She died loving one of the personalities
I created. I think. I'm not sure about anything. I had a Commie Queen at the old Communist site RevLeft fall in love with me there too. I've stopped all that. The internet is a dangerous place.

Anyway, there was Apple.

It can certainly be intoxicating. Socks, however, were a really fun feature for a while. I was particularly fond of The Devil Himself.

On the other hand my first real girlfriend is gone, along with another a few years later. Both very young. One was killed by a falling tree in a storm at 18, the other was a bullet through the head. It was deemed suicide but I know her better than that. She just got herself on the wrong side of some bad people. She was good at that.
