Facebook has over one billion users, and yet, more than 10,000 of them die everyday. So if we crunch the numbers, how long do you think it will take before accounts belonging to the dead outnumber those of the living? You can go ahead and cringe now, because it’s coming sooner than you think. Believe it or not, 30 million Facebook users died in the first eight years of its existence. In fact, 428 of them die every hour, so they’re practically dropping like flies. And every day, these dormant accounts receive friend requests, get tagged in photos, and sometimes, they’re even wished a happy birthday.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Brain-dead Facebook users have outnumbered the living for as long as I can remember.

      I was only joking

This webpage claims that Facebook adds 400 new users per minute. Not sure if I believe that number. But if that number is even just remotely close to being correct, new users signing up still outpace existing users dying off.

Even if true, 90% of that could be created by bots.

I would have thought you would have provided the maths equation for why the thread title would be axiomatic at some predictable point.

Yes, even if we assume 90% are bots, it still leaves 40 "real" new users per minute, 2400 "real" new users per hour, over 5x the rate of existing users dying off (428 per hour as cited in the opening post)

I thought of this thread yesterday. A sad story, friend killed herself 4 years ago, her husband worked for Marsh Mac and died in WTC 1.

Yesterday was her birthday. It was weird getting the reminder. A few people posted ‘miss you’ on her wall. One dude wished her happy birthday, somehow didn’t know.

                  Only non-witches get due process.
