    This one caught my attention:

    1. "I used to be a government trapper. I killed animals that caused damage or conflicts with humans, agriculture, or aircraft. I killed coyotes that were killing livestock or poultry; I worked with airports to reduce bird strikes. Millions of birds are killed every year so that the plane you're on can take off and land safely. I was good at what I did and am proud to have been a part of the unsung and outdated government trapper program. Now, there are game wardens and wildlife biologists who do the same thing, but with less killing. Back then, we even used poisons."

I was not surprised by the face that such a job existed, but by the scale of killing: "Millions of birds are killed every year so that the plane you're on can take off and land safely."

Of course, I have not tried to verify whether that claim is credible or whether the cited figure is even in the right order of magnitude.

If it’s true, I’m for it.
