We hire quite a few folk from Harvard, MIT and even the lowly Northeastern - when I say 'We' I don't actually mean me, I mean the research department that do stuff I don't understand. Pretty much everybody has a funny accent other than the funny American one you might expect.

We just had a senior research fellow retire. He's Italian, has a PhD in Physics from Harvard, and worked for the company for 50 years, if you can believe it. Hopefully he won't now get deported.

Huge swaths of Americans believe men can have babies and women can have balls. I’m pretty sure science is no longer really a thing in our K-12 schools… It’s no wonder we have to import our scientists.

I literally enrolled as a grad student at the New School for a masters in international relations. My mentor was Nina Khrushcheva, the great granddaughter (she said granddaughter, which is sorta defensable) of Nikita Krushchev. But yes, I had to read Marcuse and Derrida.

I didn’t finish because I got an offer from Credit Suisse which I couldn’t refuse.
