    Just watched it, the story of the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013. I highly recommend. I learned so much more about the response and the people involved. Most surprising was the shootout with the Tsarnayevs in Watertown. Shootout does not begin to describe it - there were hundreds of rounds fired and several explosive devices they had with them and threw at police and their vehicles. Pandemonium.

    I was at the site in Boston on Patriot Day in 2014. I took a long walk after work through Boston Commons, then down Boylston and Newberry, refecting on how normal and peaceful it all seemed.

      Thanks for the recommendation!

      I walked around the Commons as well, but never thought about the bombing. I did try to imagine all that took place over the centuries, it was cool to just imagine walking where great predecessors once walked.

      Was "Patriot Day" on Netflix?

        I spent many Patriots Days at Fenway Park watching the sox, then going over to Kenmore Square to drink beer and watch the marathon.

        The world was young and everyone had a six-pack hanging from their belt. You take out a beer and then put your belt through the plastic ring. You don't see that so much any more.

          I have a six pack just above my belt.

            @Horace said in Patriot Day:

            But it's in a padded cooler....

              @Rainman No, this was on Fox network. Theyre patriotic, y'know.

              I bet it is on Netflix though.

                It was a very strange day - I work about 20 mi outside the city, and remember the roads being almost deserted even out there. Typically, marathon day is a PITA for traffic.

                Some people here still have signs up 'Boston Strong', and pictures of the 8-year old boy who died. It feels so much worse when the victims are children.

                I was only joking
