The Defense

Granted, it's a Breitbart article, but the Slate piece is linked for reading.
Is there any defense for the movie? Or should Netflix pull it and apologize?

I suspect that few of us would have associated the film with child abuse if not for the uproar about it. Anyway it doesn't really make sense to morally panic over the film but not the real things it dramatizes. I assume these pageants happen. If they're all child abuse, well, go end them.

As far as I'm concerned, even the children's beauty pageants are child abuse.

I dont agree at all with trying to make a 5 years old (or 10, or 11, or whatever) look like a 20 year old. No reason for it at all!

It is obviously child abuse.
But, dropping your pants and wiggling your bottom is a required skill in today's entertainment industry.
Look at the headlining females in any of the last several Super Bowls. The bottom must be exposed and wiggle or forget it.
