That’s legit. He was in NJ when the writ came in. Lots of precedent that you can’t move a defendant after the fact to select a friendly venue.

By the way I don’t remember much venue shopping with Trump. They could have argued for NJ instead of FL for a more friendly jury (potentially) but didn’t. And Trump ended up with that incompetent magat judge that kept getting pimp slapped by the 11th circuit.
