Trump being Trump, but that's a dumb hill for the governor to die on.

If you stack enough stunning on top of enough brave, eventually a hill is formed. A hill to die on, stunningly and bravely.

      Education is extremely important.

During remarks at a governors' event Friday, Trump asked Maine Gov. Janet Mills if the state was going to comply with the order. Mills replied that she would comply with "state and federal law."

"Well, we are the federal law," Trump said. "You better do it, because you're not going to get any federal funding at all if you don't.

No, President Trump, that is an Executive Order. Congress makes the laws. However, blocking funding over Title IX is within your purview. Now, Maine is in a particularly rocky place as they have codified Transgender athletics in women's sports into their state law, and are obliged to follow their law. But they will lose their Federal funding if they do so.

I suggest they have an emergency meeting of their legislature.

Trump came to the meeting with his stinger out. There had already been some stuff in the media about the Maine governor saying that she would not comply...A direct challenge.

Trump singled her out on purpose.

Tell that to the Democrat governor of Maine.

Sure, I have no problem with telling the Democratic Governor of Main that I remember a time when Republicans said it’s important for elected officials to know and adhere to the Constitution. Chances are good that she remembers that too.
