Obviously it’s because the other manufacturers were crippled by the war, and while the concert halls needed to be restocked, NY Steinways were used mostly, and the Hamburg factory got a head start. I mean duh. Omg so obvious.

I blame the Joos. Morganthau decided to flatline the European piano manufacturers. Obviously.
