Academic physicists may be unique in academia for being smart enough to be self-aware about how lost their culture is.

I like how this email reads as intentionally ironic, until you realize it's serious.

Man she has a voice for the blogosphere. That was hard to listen to. I could have read the email in 45s.

Eric Weinstein used to talk about physics having reached a culdesac back in his pre-conspiracist days. Maybe he still does but weaves a narrative around it blaming a shadowy group.

She was ahead of her time. I read a piece on FB this morning about an 'Educational Park Ranger' with the National Park Service. He's lost his job this week and it has all the feels. So sad for he, his children, etc. Never once does it address that his salary is paid by running up the national credit card, thereby saddling each of his children with $100K debt at birth. And that's just so far.

There is a proposal being evaluated for an equity study of genetic testing. I looked at it and knew immediately that it was fatally flawed because all the data sources, which I know very well, are fatally flawed. the results, should it be approved, will be gobbledygook. Complete waste of money but it keeps some's pet project funded.

She actually did talk about nuclear stuff today, so in honor of that coincidence, I’ll share it. Interesting stuff.
