    The end of cheap labor?

    “Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

    Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

      Good.

      really, the illegal labor in this country is pretty close to a new slavery system.

        My nanny was legal. Cleaning lady, I doubt but never asked.

        Only non-witches get due process.

          I'll never forget the nanny room in a house we looked at while home shopping. I think it was a converted pantry, or maybe laundry room. Enough space for a single bed (with a crucifix on the wall above it) and that's about it.

            I think in the US, we should be aware that restaurant prices will go up, along with less (or slower) service.

            Vegatable and fruit prices will increase.

            Construction pricing will probably increase also.

            (And I am saying this as someone who is against illegal immigration)

              @taiwan_girl

              Anything with steel and/or aluminum will soon increase as well. Things like stoves, fridges, washers dryers and other household appliances. Plenty of other items, big ticket ones like vehicles.

                  I read something today that the US Association of Restaurants (not sure if that is the exact name) says that ~21% of restaurant workers are foreign born. They do not say how many of that per cent are illegal, but probably more than 50%. So, if US restaurants lose 10-15% of their workers, it will have an impact.

                    Prices went up when we did away with slavery, too. I don’t understand this argument.

                      Not really an arguement. I just am not sure that people (not on this forum board) understand what may happen when we lose the illegal work force.

                      Two of the main areas that President Trump campaigned on was the economy (inflation) and illegal immigration. In alot of ways, they work against each other.
