Whom I suspect will be rehomed in another department. State, perhaps?

I had dinner with a scientist last night whose daughter runs a health charity in East Africa. No funding from USAid but funding from State.

She got a call saying all her funding was cut and she had 24 hours to submit reimbursement requests for money already spent. But the system where they do that had been turned off. She tried to call the woman to get further instructions but she had been laid off immediately after the call so there was no recourse. Her dad bought her a ticket home from Nairobi.

      Only non-witches get due process.

        That's bad. Very bad.

I can’t speak to @jon-nyc s anecdote, but one guy I know and trust told me the USAID situation was one of USAID’s own making. That there were some allowances for payments for different programs and there was a little bit of a ramp down allowed that leadership in the agency chose to ignore and went for the whole malicious enforcement route. In addition, there were a couple programs that were definitely going to get cut, and the agency heads tried to smuggle payments through disguised as something else. That brought the boot down. There will likely be charges against the leadership.

Absolutely shocked you would use a Dem mouthpiece account to buttress your argument. 😄

@Jolly Do you think that the farmers were fake or real? Do you agree or disagree that USAID buys billions of USD of agricultural products from US farmers?

(Not to say that there isn't waste, etc.. Just wondering what you believe is not correct in the above video?)

                    Farmers are not politically monolithic.

As for today's American farming...It needs a combination of trust-busting, overhaul of price supports and tariff protection as needed.
