If she is already 6, she is already lost. Way to late my friend. Not too early. At least if one has aspirations of her becoming a tier 1 classical pianist performer. You start them at 2 or 3 tops. The younger the brain, the more sponge like its ability to learn and retain. Out best years have always been just off the nipple and diapers

My daughter started on a P-200 and it worked well, until her teacher talked us into upgrading. A lot more affordable than some of the alternatives.

As for the age. 6-7 is when most traditional teachers like to start. Reading 4-5 letter words and ready to focus on something for 30 minutes at a time.

Just pick your teacher well. I started the oldest granddaughter at 6. Teacher was an accomplished pianist, but he did a lot of teaching in groups and on keyboards.
She didn't learn near what she should have.
Moved her to a lady that the homeschool co-op tends to use. Old-timey, one at a time, acoustic piano instruction with an emphasis on sight reading. Works a lot on "hearing" the notes as they should be, proper time and hand placement, along with thirty minutes practice per day.
Night and day difference in student advancement between the two teachers.

I think it’s all about enjoyment of music and learning something fun from a 6 yr old’s point of view. Something she’ll sit down at not just to practice lessons but to play with, experiment with, develop her ear for, sing with. It was way too formal and painful when I was a kid. That old wooden upright. My 65 yr old friend has a keyboard her daughter once used and I noticed girly pink flower stickers on it. If I had a redo as a parent, sure, why not? It’s all about enjoyment of music.
