Canadian Tariff situation gets its own thread

In other newsâŚ.
Ukrainian and Polish Canadians are banding together and calling on all their fellow Canadians to denounce the introduction and appointment of any type of âCzarâ to Canada. Stan Kowalski of the Dom Polski braterstwo Kapustewâ was quoted as saying, âa Czar cannot be trusted, he first takes your bread, then your salt and finally your soul. Never trust a Czar especially one whose name sounds like that kurwa, Fentanilovâ. Orest Tkachuk of the Ukrainian Holoptsy and Kielbasnik Producers Board echoed Mr. Kowalskiâs sentiments with a terse, âCzar khuiya!â and made a universally recognized obscene arm gesture associated with sticking a foreign object up your bottom.

Some US lawmakers are pushing back against Trump tariffs against Canada.
We also knew all along it really never was about fentanyl or for that matter, illegal immigration.

@Pablum
And you can fuck off too, you little Trumpsucking republocrat troll.
I actually love Canada. My comment was really directed at one stick-up-his-ass loudmouth, low-class Canadian, and he was actually clever enough to figure it out right away.
It's gonna be really fun to watch you and the rest of the usual gang eat shit for the next 12 years. Enjoy!
-
Well Pablum, I thought I told you last week to go wait in the truck.
On second thought, kindly just fuck off and die while youâre at it
Little Trumpsucking pip squeak Pablum. Youâre nothing but some resident passive aggressiveâs goddamned sock.

Trumpigula says next week:
U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday he will go forward with a 25 per cent tariff on most imports from Canada next week, saying the country has ripped off the U.S. for too long and it's time to put a stop to it.

I trust that the Yankee Moses knows that he is single-handedly destroying any chances the Conservative Party of Canada will form the next federal government in this country.

Be careful beer drinkers!

For the craft beer industry, which depends heavily on aluminum cans from Canada, the 25% increase will hit hard, according to Klein. Spiteful Brewing annually sells nearly a half-million cans of beer, which it distributes to retailers throughout the Chicago area.
and
âFor us, in packaging, itâs probably the most expensive part of whatâs in a six-pack,â he said.
A typical Spiteful six-pack sells for $11.99 on store shelves, Klein said. He expects the retail price to go up at least $1 per six-pack after the tariff hits.
I imagine it would be the same increase for soda pop cans.

I guess Trumpigula cares little for the security of his countryâs mineral supply:

We could also turn back the energy deliveries - hydroelectric and hydrocarbon.

âI look at some of these agreements,â he said. âIâd read them at night and Iâd say, âWho would ever sign a thing like this?â So the tariffs will go forward, yes, and weâre going to make up a lot of territory.â
The Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement was negotiated during the first Trump administration to replace the North American Free Trade Agreement. Trump described it at the time as the âbest agreement weâve ever made.â

Perhaps Trumpigula isnât cognizant that he was the last American

So this morning itâs reported that the WH says âmaybe not next weekâ.
The White House has clarified that North America-wide tariffs are not a done deal, as many news headlines suggested following remarks Monday by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Trump had been asked Monday whether he's proceeding with tariffs on Canada and Mexico, currently paused until March 4, and he replied: "The tariffs are going forward on time, on schedule," then went on to make vague complaints about unspecified abuses against the United States.
