      Yeah but GE or Medtronic could do the same thing and there’d be no difference at all. Just ask any TikTok addict.

          I am wondering …

          Pretty much all consumer electronic products have to go through various certifications before being allowed to be sold on the open market. E.g., UL safety certification, FCC Part 15 do-no-harm electromagnetic emission certification, etc. maybe there should now be a cybersecurity certification for products that can connect to a communication network?

          The other possibility is a big national firewall that can potentially block all cross-border communications.

          Neither is easy or cheap, and both come with “big government” implications.

            In this case, it's medical, so I know there are additional certs.

            I think we do a cybersecurity check on anything with a chip.

              You would not believe the security and compliance hoops we have to jump through to stand up any healthcare software. I see no reason biomed devices should be any different. I imagine they have at least as much, but maybe not to that level.
