In 2008, that would've been kind of funny. Today, it's just not worth the hassle of talking (I'll get off your lawn in a moment...).

That said, I have done something similar to that. I got a call from a telemarketer, and as soon as they asked for George, I said, "It's me! I did it. But, oh my GOD, there's blood EVERYWHERE!! Please help! Please TELL ME WHAT TO DO??! I've never done anything like this before, and I need you to help me out here before anyone finds it. PLEASE HELP ME!"

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

I wonder why telemarketers always start with this "Am I talking to XXX?" stuff. I usually hang up right after the question.

        You actually answer the calls?

        That's SO 2008.

Well, how do you know it's a telemarketer before you answer the call? Or do you only accept calls from people you know?

Yes. If it's important, they can leave a message.

Do people still leave voice messages these days? I haven't checked my voice mails in years.

Exactly. They don’t exist in my world. I allocate 0 brain space to them

Recruiters and HR folks still leave them on the regular.

                      Please love yourself.

Right. What are the odds that it is important to interrupt your day to take a call? Maybe those with kids when they are not at home.

Even delivery services send you a text when they are near.

The days of answering a call you don’t who is calling, is over. If it irritates you, reframing how you feel about it has to change because it will never stop. Think about it, no one is even actively calling you, it’s a computer and if answer then it routes to someone on the other end who quickly has to figure out who you are. So funny.
