I think it is good that President Trump has been nominated, but I was surprised that it is actually quite easy to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

"nominees are only accepted from certain members of national governments, members of the Permanent Court of Arbitration and of the International Court of Justice at the Hague, former Nobel Peace Prize winners, university professors in certain fields, and so on. Organizations can be nominated as well as individuals."

I am not saying anybody can be a nominated, but it is not as difficult as I first thought.

He's pretty anti-war and isolationist in his policy. I can see an argument for it.

He pretty much said the U.S. military leadership were warmongers and wanted defense contractors to get rich. He doesn't want to have sprawling troop deployments around the world.

I'm curious why he hasn't moved over to actually cutting the military budget... probably because debt doesn't really matter to him.

Because the military needed a refurb.

Yep. 10 years of war and 8 of neglect.

Nominations don't really mean anything. If I remember correctly, Hitler was also nominated.

The prize committee is rather left-leaning. They'd never give the prize to Trump, even if he would deserve it (which he doesn't, just like Obama didn't deserve it).

The Trump campaign has an ad out on this trying to raise money.

                    They misspelled 'Nobel'
