Love him or hate him, Glenn Gould was always interesting.

I happened across this vide of him playing the Emperor.

What I particularly enjoyed was the extended shots of his hands at the keyboard.

The audio is so-so, but this video really shows Gould's approach to the "inner voices."

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Didn't always love what he did (e.g. Beethoven Appassionata)- but he had an amazing technique.

I never understood how folks can actually "not like" certain musicians , though their musical ability is near god like. Hell give me more physical antics while playing I say. Show their human side. The hate for Lang Lang years ago, it was a real thing, and I never understood why. There must be some unwritten rules of decorum when playing in public I guess. Maybe some see it as showing off, I never felt that though. Gould is quirky yes, but my god, watch and listen, giminy christmas, this guy is so good, any piano player watching him immediately becomes a little bit better at what they are doing. For reals...
