So he is not a big believer in evolution, eh?

The corresponding author is Chandra Wickramasinghe, who has form in this area, having claimed two decades ago that flu also came from space — an idea roundly criticized as bunk. He has also claimed that SARS — an earlier coronavirus — had the same origins. Ditto.

Well, at lease he's an equal-opportunity fabulist.

Is this a recommendation for some new Netflix series?

He's a former student of famous astronomer and supporter of controversial theories, Fred Hoyle, who also said some illnesses were extra-terrestrial.

If coronaviruses have existed for a long time and this one looks a lot like other viruses, why would one think Covid 19 hitched a ride on meteorite landing Oct 11,2019?

Did the other coronaviruses come from a much earlier meteorite?
