The right thing would have been to persuade him to not run then hold a real primary. To support him through the primary then pull the rug out from under him only when the charade of competence was unmasked hardly constitutes the right thing

By the way, I hadn’t read the article but came across the money quote elsewhere. It’s worth a good laugh:
