On the year-end prediction episode of Bari Weiss’s podcast, Niall made an interesting comment: that Trumps power was at peak. He’s seen as a winner, calling the shots, political and business leaders were making the ring-kissing pilgrimage and dropping a million dollars in the inauguration kitty on their way out. But come January, there will be actual governing to do, with its attendant constraints, blockages, etc.

Now looking at the news we see he can’t get a debt limit increase out of his party, his nominees are under attack.

    Looks like January is here.

Stock market is headed for a correction, no interest rate decreases (or little ones in 2025), etc.

I was on a Merrill call last week, they reversed their prediction of two rate decreases in the first half of the year.

With all due respect to Prof Ferguson, experiencing the peak Trump phenomenon is wholly dependent upon where you happen to reside. I fully anticipate the very unpleasant stench of peak Trump to waft across the border in the coming week. It will take months of resolute and patriotic determination to refreshen the air here as a result.

          Elbows up!
