The details are hard to absorb. Think of the hideous abuse suffered by that extraordinary French woman, Gisèle Pelicot, sedated and raped by dozens of French men, organized by her husband. Now think of that kind of organized gang-bang — but make it close to ubiquitous in some towns and the victims under-age girls: raped, brutalized, mutilated, beaten, their lives destroyed. Yes, it was that bad. Tens of thousands of rape victims across the country. This is how one British judge addressed some culprits at sentencing:
“You coerced her into providing sex to vast numbers of strangers. Up to four or five men would be invited to addresses so they could have sex with her ... Threats were made to kill her ... If she resisted, she would be coerced. Customers would become angry … If oral sex was required, her head would be pushed down, her hair pulled and she would be slapped. Strangers would burn her with cigarettes. A stranger almost throttled her. One deliberately scratched her vagina with his nails. One inserted a hairbrush into her vagina.”
The victim was just 13 years old. And she wasn’t unconscious. In just one town, a “conservative estimate is that approximately 1,400 children were sexually exploited” between 1997 and 2013. And in communities dominated by men of Pakistani origin, largely from the Mirpuri region of Kashmir, who held huge sway over the police and local community — just like the Catholic Church in Boston — cover-ups were routine.
Among the abuse concealed: gang-rapes of a single minor by 20 men; putting a pump into a girl’s anus so more men could penetrate her at once; and constant threats of murder of the girls or their families if anyone spoke up. In one case, a minor was arrested and charged with prostitution for having oral sex in a car with a john. When she attended her trial, she discovered that the magistrate in charge of her case was the man she’d fellated. No one knows the full number of minor girls affected, but it is in at least the tens of thousands, and possibly in the six figures.

While I don’t have the stomach to do it myself, if there was a button I could push that would result in all of the perps getting brutally tortured - I mean medieval style, literally farm them for pain until they die - I would run, not walk, to push that button.

Here's another aspect - Musk has been calling this out for the last couple of weeks, and he's being condemned as a racist for doing so.
According to Starmer he’s been posting things that aren’t true about it. I haven’t really looked at the details of this but suddenly the Conservatives want another enquiry after their 14 years in government has ended.

Yeah, it could well be, however there’s also some politics going on, which is why I suspect it’s suddenly become a hot topic now. Hopefully we’ll find out what’s actually been going on.

I'm sick to fucking death of tiptoeing around to avoid being called racist or whateverphobic. No one ever calls out blacks here for their own racism, which runs a damn sight deeper than any I might have. Respecting positive cultural facets is one thing. Turning a blind eye to evil, deeply harmful is quite another.

I don’t think anyone thinks it’s new. Part of the scandal is how it was quickly swept under the rug after Rotherham and how the authorities that downplayed it and enabled it were never brought to account. And according to Sullivan, that enquiry omitted the worst towns.
This is basically the Catholic Church scandal redux. Except it’s a different institution that people held sacred enough to get away with mass rape of children (‘miulticulturism’ vs Catholicism).
When you shake someone's deep sense of self-worth, leaving a scar in their ego, they will persistently try to diminish you through petty arguments & obsessive captious criticism of your actions, just to soothe the wound.

Archbishop of Canterbury Mr Welby resigned over the Church's handling of the sadistic abuser, John Smyth, who a recently published report said perpetrated brutal sexual, physical and mental abuse against more than 120 boys and young men since the late 1970s.
The report said Mr Welby had "personal and moral responsibility" and that he "could and should have done more" in the case.

Former Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey has quit his service as a Church of England priest after a BBC investigation revealed he had advocated for an alleged child abuser to return to priesthood.
David Tudor was banned by the Church for five years in the 1980s, over allegations of assault against teenage girls, but Lord Carey later allowed him to return under supervision.

I quoted from Sullivans piece. In it he compares the two scandals. He, a practicing catholic, describes his own reaction when he learned of it. He recalled the story of a priest that worked at a home for deaf kids.
The priest specifically targeted boys whose parents he knew didn’t know sign language. If that’s not calculated evil I don’t know what would qualify.

He also noted the politics involved. He said Musk has an ongoing campaign to bring down the British PM.
So much for complaining about interference in other people's domestic politics.
And once again, the government that failed to implement any of the recommendations of the enquiry was the previous Conservative one, that was in power for 14 long years. They're now all over the issue after losing the last election.

They are saying there was an enquiry. And the current government has been in power for 6 months. Not 14 years.
Interestingly, Andy Burnham, the Labour mayor of Greater Manchester, is asking for one.
