And the widow wore fire engine red...

Wife played for her cousin's funeral this afternoon. Which was kinda funny, you couldn't swing a dead cat and not hit a piano player in that family. Or somebody who can sing. Brothers and sisters sang, nieces and nephews sang, a couple others in the family did sit down at the piano for a song and several guitars were used.
As is usual at most funerals, a lot of black colors were worn by the attendees, except for the widow. The widow was dressed in a fire engine red dress. Which was most appropriate.
She and her husband had been married 65 years and if you saw them out in public, their clothes were always color coordinated. If she wore beige, he wore beige. If he wore blue, she wore blue. She called his bluff one time by wearing pink to a family reunion...We ragged him for years about his pink vest. He was not to be outdone.
His last wishes - which had to have been written with a twinkle in his eye - was to be buried in a fire engine red sportscoat.
So the widow wore fire engine red...

They seem like really fun people. Sorry for your and their loss.
The guy lived a great life. Had a very responsible job managing a large staff, did a lot of mission work through the SBC (mostly funding, but he did do several trips abroad over the years) before and after retirement, had a great marriage, two good kids and a passel of grand and great-grands.
And he had a great Rollie Fingers mustache for most of his adult life.
