On another board I frequent, a small farm person is bemoaning the fact that her Web host owner is retiring. She's been with him 17 years.

She wants a U.S. based, small business company. Any ideas?

        Try this one:

        https://www.tigertech.net/

I have used them for over 20 years, no frill and no overzealous “security requirements”, they don’t even send me “junk mail” like some other big web hosting company with daddy issues do so frequently; just plain old good and reliable service over the years.

Per Ax’s recommendation, this is who I signed up with when I bought my “domain”.

No issues, I have been happy So far. when I have contacted them, and they have responded quickly.

(I actually don’t have anything on my web page, but a couple of days ago, I did download Wordpress to try and start making a web page)

Wordpress is kind of outdated. You might want to look around for something a bit more flexible and easier. I maintain a Wordpress site now and while in its day it was quite good, I think that day has passed.

Any recommendations? Plus, do you have any good tutorial to start making a webpage? 😊

(wordpress was free and was easy to install from Tigertech, so that is why I used it.)

There are a lot of them out there, Wix, etc. Do some googling and see what you come up with.

That's not true. Wordpress is still great for companies—but no, it's very bad for DIY.

                    My vote is Squarespace.
