My dad was friends with him, as he was a Baldwin artist. Makes you wonder.

Yeah. That's what I've heard as well - "Lee" is what people called him.
Władziu Valentino Liberace (known as Lee to his friends and Walter to family) was born in West Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 16, 1919.

For some weird reason I've been getting a load of recommendations to watch videos about Liberace recently on YouTube. I hate to think what the algorithm is dredging up about me, and responding to this thread probably isn't going to help.
