I'm fixin' to turn in, gotta work one of my four days/month tomorrow. I just killed my generator, been running it since I got home at 1900. I had to take the long way home, as the normal route was flooded. I don't mind running shallow water in the truck, but I'm not doing that in the dark.
We had a nice squall line come through today. Daughter said one of the tornadoes it spawned tore up three houses about a half-mile from me. I think we've got about 13K without power in the general area. Maybe I'll get it back tomorrow...My 87 year-old FIL will be without until at least Monday or Tuesday.
At least this time of year, the temperatures are pleasant. Should get down to 52 tonight, be sunny and 64 tomorrow.
Reckon I'll heat my coffee water in the morning on the pit's side burner and drip it in a sockolator...

Oh, I ain't griping. Just wish I didn't have to leave my one-armed wife by her lonesome today, but when you work rural hospitals, you saddle up and go. Lots of sick folks right now. Good bit of flu and RSV, not much COVID. Along with the usual stuff.
I waited until daylight to leave home and I re-topped the generator and bussed it off just before I left. That should be good for 8-9 hours. My daughter and her husband will drop by and check on her, refill the Generac and I'll get home by 1830 tonight.
I was able to get out the shortest route this morning. Water was off the road. Noticed a couple of oaks got broken off down at the main highway intersection and they took out the utility pole with them. Passed by the school and they had another couple of oaks they had cleared off of the highway, shoved off the road until they can pick them up. Got pretty sporty around the house last night.
