Nancy Sinatra talking about Christmas parties at her house or at Uncle Dino's house...

She didn't realize until years later how special some of those parties were. You might have Nat King Cole playing piano and singing. You always had daddy and Uncle Dino singing together or horsing around. Maybe Sammy Davis Jr. was doing impressions and making everybody laugh.

But the person who impressed her most was Judy Garland. Judy knew the words to almost any song and could sing without rest breaks or loss of voice. Other people would get tired, take a break or call it a night. Not Judy. If you wanted to sing until the sun came up, Judy would sing all night long.

      Judy - what a loss.

But, what the hell is Sinatra doing with his socks in the beginning?

I saw her other daughter, Lorna Lufts, in concert with an orchestra at the Lancaster Festival some years ago. She was every bit as great as her mom and sister.

(I'll get off your lawn after I post this)

I miss that kind of TV show.

Come right on over to my lawn, I’ll get the firepit going and pour a couple of drinks. No scotch, but I have some Dad’s Hat Rye… I’ll light a cigar if you don’t mind, and we’ll wax nostalgic about the glory that was the old Rat Pack specials… If time permits, we’ll pour a second and talk about Bob Hope and Carson…

Last night, Mrs. George was watching "A Very Barry Christmas" with Barry Manilow.

It was absolutely awful. Besides the requisite Christmas songs, he lip-synced some of his hits - "Mandy," "I Write The Songs," and others. It was painfully obvious that he was lip-syncing. The audience seemed to love it - i wonder how much they were paid.

The other really annoying thing was the quick-shots from multiple cameras. It was nauseating to switch from one view to another. I don't think any camera got more than two seconds.

Watched an old Bing Crosby Christmas special this last week. Bing, a lady singer I didn't recognize (she had pipes, though), Fred Waring & The Pennsylvanians and a hilarious dog act.

I think his garter broke coming down the stairs.

Something is flopping around his left ankle.

                      I'd like to listen.

Nancy Sinatra used to do a weekly radio show on SirriusXM, where she talked about her dad, his music and lots of little personal anecdotes. It ran for over a decade, but ended during COVID. They still replay it on Sunday afternoons.
