A good death

Carly was D3's cat. She was about 15 years old, and D3 has had her for about 10 years. Carly was declawed, a stray. She was mean a rattlesnake in heat (like The Bee) - she'd hiss and growl, occasionally bat at you. Never bit.
But when she wanted some loving, she was all purrs, rubs and cuddles.
She had host of medical issues - bad bladder, stress anxiety when left alone, etc etc. The vet actually had her on prozac for a while - when D3 started working from home, that stopped. Whenever D3 would leave town, we'd babysit Carly.
In the last 6 weeks, she's not been eating much. Just an occasional bite at some wet food, and lost about 8 of her 15 pounds - she was quite the chunk. You could tell that she was checking out - slowly. Never any sign of pain or distress, just a quiet "I think I'm done."

" I basically impulsively adopted this thing. I was only going to foster her but I’m a sucker. She came in with a bunch of other street cats all sick and shit but she’s fine now. She made air biscuits when I was holding her like a baby so I felt bad. Plus Bowie’s been a bigger dick than usual ever since Carly died so I hope this’ll help him go back to normal. Shes 7 months so I really don’t know if she’ll get much bigger but she’s settling in well. She loves Bowie and they romp/play around a lot but there’s some jealousy from him and he can be a little growly with her when he’s had enough or she tries to take his toy but they get along 85% of the time."
