          I agree with @taiwan_girl . While I would have expected somebody of his reputation to play a little more complicated of an arrangement, it was adequate if a little overly schmultzy and his liberato was very liberal. Still , in person that would have been an overwhelming experience. Pipe Organs don’t record well and need to be experienced live.

            I’ve been in that auditorium.

            Nothing was playing, it was in August. But we went in to have a look.

            Only non-witches get due process.

              Well, the tempo was sluggish. Not as bad as the 1970s Boulez recording (which I can't find).

              Also, maybe it's because it's an organ, so much of the melody gets lost in the muddle of the chords.

                This. As wonderful as pipe organs are, they cannot compete with the subtleties of an orchestra.

                  Yes, and the piano transcriptions are better than this as well.

                  I mentioned Boulez...I remember hearing this when it was released and being shocked.

                    This guy defends the slow interpretation of the Beethoven 5. In fact, according to him Boulez is too fast!
