I've heard lots of critique of his speech in front of the collection of black men which was intended mostly to shame them into voting for Kamala. I don't know if the politics of shame are paying net dividends anymore. Certainly those are the politics he rose to prominence on, so they are what he knows. And certainly there has always been a backlash against them. But at this point, the backlash might be stronger than the shame, and the politics might be counter-productive. I am glad the population has established how sick it is of being lectured to by moralizing politicians.
Education is extremely important.

For the good of all of us, politics need to change within the Dem party. When Bernie says you've gone off the deep end, you've gone off the deep end.
I don't know who the next leaders of the party will be, but it doesn't need to be a schmuck from New York or a San Francisco leftist...

I have always imagined he intentionally chose his deep black wife because he knew it would enhance his credibility as a "black" man. Does an Obama who married a white woman ever become president? Does he ever rise in Chicago politics? Maybe. I mean he has talent as an orator. But we see, even in the George Zimmerman reaction, one of his worst in retrospect, he plays up the fact that his kids look black. They look black mostly because of their mom.
And now his kids float through elite white socialite circles, at least according to the gossip pages. His kids' lives prove that class is the differentiating factor in outcomes, rather than race. Which is why his politics are losing, and why Donald Trump just got elected again.
