How are ya’ll celebrating? We’re taking a couple stacks of blankets to give away to the poor at the Mattaponi Rez near Williamsburg.

I have no obligations today. But, as a curiosity, I note that I'll be practicing some music and studying some math that were created around the time of the first thanksgiving.

      Education is extremely important.

We’re in suburban Atlanta, going to dinner at the house of a friend of Mayla from her hometown in Peru. She’s married to a long time piano dealer here. (I wonder if he knew Larry). Mayla’s cousin and her son will also be there.

We’re arriving early so I can make my butternut squash soup.

Having orphaned friends over. Buttermilk brined turkey breasts, mashed sweet potatoes, corn pudding, hard rolls and a green veggie player to be named later. The Calling Dutton Ranch Chardonnay, either Testarossa Pinot Noir or a nice Margaux.

Have Paul Robeson singing traditional Americana on the playlist.

                      Tomorrow.

Nothin' today other than preparing the turkey.

If a prominent Democrat issued a happy thanksgiving message that was 80% anti-maga screed I’m pretty sure you guys would have a three letter acronym for it.

If some progressive wrote a note wishing happiness to all the white supremacists trying to destroy our very democracy, I would think they had too much of a sense of humor, and that they were going to be eaten alive by their own tribe.

So we went to a a turkey farm to buy a live turkey. We picked one out and the man there said that he'll have the tom killed and plucked in about 15 mins. My wife said, "it's a TOM????" and she said she'll kill it herself. She got the ax and then cut off it's head.

(Not a word of that is true--but,) Happy Thanksgiving!
