Cherry?

Name?
We're working on it. (Her other name was just ridiculous.) Her back half is all black with brown specs, and her front half is mostly white.
Got any ideas? I was thinking of those Christmas cookies that are half plain, half chocolate-coated with nuts on them but forgot their name. (I don't know why it has to be food, it's just the first thing that came to mind.)

Nothing like a new family member...
Temporary assignment. This is a temporary assignment. To see how it goes.

Oreo?
Nahh, closer to Viennese fingers or whatever those things are. She's already claimed one of the tea towels. Just, floop, picked it up off the floor and tried to make a blanket out of it. So I guess that's hers now.

Okay, it’s time that I came clean… All my teasing of George and you about the bunnies, and the Hausenpfeffer jokes? When I was 5, my parents got me a bunny. A bunny that looks ALOT like the picture you just posted. I named him Cherry because his black splotches looked like black cherries.i loved that bunny.
Do you know what I’m even more allergic to than kittehs? Rodents. Rabbits and Ferrets are the worst. Nearly lethal. So Cherry went away.
But damn, that bunny looks like Cherry.

Rabbits weren't even an option for me growing up, for much the same reason.
When we had Puck, I'd tentatively hang out with him, but only in intervals. I was horribly allergic. Same with Bagels—but the problem with him was that he'd come and find me in the house and insist on hanging out. So there was a good month or so where I hit the Benadryl pretty hard.
Now, though, I'm hardly allergic.

Fur baby allergies are weird AF.
When we met, Mrs. George adopted one my post-divorce cats - Chervil. We had to re-home her because of apartment restrictions.
We moved to a place with no restrictions and got two cats (Sadie and Oscar). Her asthma got so bad with these two cats that Benadryl did nothing. She was injecting sub q epinephrine (!) to stop the wheezing. We had to get rid of the cats.
When D3 had to re-home The Bee, she asked us. Shockingly, there we no reactions. The only thing I can think of is that The Bee was a long-hair cat. Somewhere, I read that long-hairs are less allergenic. After The Bee died, we got Maggie (another domestic long-hair) with the caveat that we could return if there was a problem. There wasn't.
Mrs. George attributes it to allergy shots she got. That may be the case.
There's no issue with Boris.
Go figure.

The cats are a back and forth for me. They hit me hard Friday morning… I had to take 2 Benadryl and Karla had to drive down to Newport News, but for the rest of the weekend the cats were in the hotel room with us, sleeping in the bed with me and Karla, and not a problem…

Since we got back, the car an are hanging out outside the bedroom at night saying “hey… What’s the deal?! Why aren’t we in there?”

Could it be something else in the house?

OK - I don't understand.
You're OK with the cats in a hotel, sleeping in your bed, etc.
When you get home, you're not OK with the cats?
Did I get that right?

Some days the cats hit me harder than others. I’m in a bit of an adjustment phase with them.

Some better photos.

Some guys are the same way with hookers, or so I've been told.

That's a cutie.
Yeah, she is very nice and entirely pick-upable. This whole weekend I think is going to be a "get acclimated" weekend. I do this weird thing where I find a sock I'm going to throw away anyway and give it to her to play with, because that doubles as learning what I smell like.
Kinda weird but rabbits eat their own poop and it's hygienic for them, so, different rules. Smelly socks are alright.
