Hi, I'm Klaus' test account. I'm also a metasyntactic variable. Ask me anything.

Hi Brenda! I am actually a long time member, going back to the original pre-split Coffee Room. On Piano World, my forum name is Cool Nerd and I joined when I was looking for my piano. Obviously, I don't post much. Not sure I have much to add, but I always enjoy hearing the opinions and discussions of the members, except for some of the obvious "boys being boys" posts, which I just skip. Retired now from running a technology company, I and Mr. Nanna, moved back to my home state of Virginia (not far from Copper, I think) where we met in college. Two children and five grands. It is nice to see some familiar names again...89th, Rainman, etc. Thanks for asking, Brenda! Since we are the minority gender around here, I'm hoping mrs ilm replies, too!

Hello. Yes, I was concerned someone might think "mrs ilm" was related to "ilm." I messed up there. Can I go back to "ilm" and people know that I am female? The only reason I put "mrs ..." was to identify my gender.
Thank you, Nanna, for hoping I reply. And thank you George, for identifying my membership.
I was one of the original members back in May 2005. There were several members from all over that posted back then.
I joined when the forum started from Piano World and I was taking piano lessons. -
Hi All,
It was an interest in playing the piano that led me to this forum by way of PianoWorld many years ago. I think my username there was Opus45, but I often used my first name whenever I posted (mostly on the Adult beginners forum). I still enjoy playing the piano, or more accurately a Yamaha keyboard. I donated a very nice Kawai UST-7 before a recent move to a small town near Asheville, North Carolina (been in downsizing mode for about 5 years). With some good fortune and being generally frugal I was able to and made a decision to retire a bit early last year (I'll soon be 60 years). I may end up doing some volunteer work at some point, but my plan right now is to take some time and travel around the U.S. (RV) and spend a lot of time outdoors when it's safe to do so again. This will be a huge change from being chained to a desk staring into computer monitors 8 hours a day every day for years on end.
I've lurked here for quite a long time and enjoy reading interesting opinions regarding current events and other various topics that come up from time to time. Several years ago someone asked me where I get my news and I told them I often start here.
