No Thread about the big Department of Education Announcement?

I’m curious to see where this goes and how it happens. It is definitely giving greater power to the states, which I generally like, but at the same time some of the things that Trump has said he’s going to do regarding Trans and Gender Identity as well as Parental Rights kind of hinge on there being a Department of Education.

I don't think it will happen. I do think it was the opening shot in negotiations.
I think the DOE is going to be smaller and will keep their nose out of the classroom a bit more. I don't think the funding will decrease in actual terms of what an individual student would receive. I hope that with the decrease in red tape, comes an increase in learning.
