Not a cabinet post, but...
Rumor is that Wray is going to resign, perhaps before the inauguration.

Is he staying within extradition reach? Asking for a friend.

I am not sure why people think that the way President Trump will pick people for his cabinet will be different from the last time.
Last time, we were told (by himself) that we was a businessman who had decades of experience in hiring people and only hired the best. I dont see him changing his style unless to make that there is some sort of "loyalty" question in the hiring.
Loyalty will absolutely be a thing, and I've heard Don Jr say as much. Remember the history of people in the white house bragging anonymously about being adults in the room, keeping him in check. There'll be none of that anymore. So the adults, now outside the room, can go a corner, assume the fetal position, and weep uncontrollably, as adults will do.
It's important to keep in mind that he only expects a normal level of loyalty to a president, rather than an extraordinary amount. He was met with an extraordinary amount of disloyalty last time, and he has an obligation to his voters to make sure that does not happen again. Loyalty to a president from the white house staff is a normal thing, and he will get it this time.

I have to wonder what made President-Elect Trump announce that he's not considering Haley or Pompeo. Surely he could have declined, or told them they're not in the running in person.
To stop speculation?
I think he's still a little miffed with Haley. Pompeo? I thought he'd use him for something...Maybe he still will.
I've read where the Trump team are asking many of the people they are vetting for positions, if they will accept "Acting" roles...Those do not have to be confirmed by the Senate.

Experience. That’s why.

I enjoyed this conversation with a guy called Elbridge Colby (whitest name ever), who is the grandson of a guy who used to run the CIA (whitest lineage ever). Tucker thinks he may play an important role in Trump's administration, possibly secretary of defense. He refers to the Trump movement as the "new left", and talks a bit about cultures and their pathologies as they age. Lots of it resonated with me.

Tom Homan - Border Czar
That's gonna leave a mark.
Yeah, I think that Caravan’s turned around right now, and I think you’ll likely see a little bit of an exodus going the other way. Some of the more recent illegal arrivals might decide it’s best to leave on their terms than Homan’s.
I understand that his approach on family separation is to use it as preventative measure. Make people less likely to cross out of fear that they will be separated from their family, but I’m not crazy about that idea. I think that just a stark “no entry, period” and if we find you crossing the border, you go to the end of the line for possible entry and immigration.

Stefanik offered UN Ambassador.
Just looked it up: If there's a vacancy in a congressional seat in New York, the governor has to call a special election for between 70 and 80 days of the vacancy. It's not appointed.

Yeah we talked about that when Santos was finding out.

Tom Homan - Border Czar
I am embarrass to admit that I have never heard of him.

Wow. According to Trump, to be Senate leader you have to agree in advance to forfeit the Advise and Consent role prescribed by the Constitution.
No, he wants his people and he wants them as quickly as possible. That's why most people being vetted are asked if they will take an "acting" appointment.
Look, Trump is Trump. He can pull some boners. But he also can be taught. I think he is really honing in on his first 100 days and wants to make hay.
