There are actually choices, and I trust that Mr Kimmel has a certain psychology that tends towards sanctimony. Sincere, sobby, sanctimony. He's shown that side of himself plenty, and I'm sure he has gotten lots of positive reinforcement for it. His producers absolutely love it when he gets sobby.
