Pilxelmator is a Photoshop alternative. A free, powerful, app. I've never come close to mastering any of the features in it (or Photoshop for that matter).
Announced today that Apple has purchased the app.
Interesting.
If I had to guess, Apple wants to encroach into Photoshop's territory for photo editing.

Smart move for Apple.
Photoshop is, I believe, the only Adobe software still designed and updated by the team here in the U.S. and not India. It's hard to beat. As a desktop editor, Pixelmator doesn't even come close. It'd be a stupid choice.
But as built-in phone software? Great idea.
