    What's the Boris update?

He's doing well. He turned one about 10 days ago, and continues to be laid back and friendly. He is totally fearless with strangers.

He's up to 16 lb as of today.

He knows the routine is that after I shower in the AM, I feed him his wet food, and he's all lovey with me then. He's not a lap cat, but he insists in being in the room with us, sometimes sleeping in bed with us.

He loves to be brushed, and usually purrs his heart out when I brush his chest and tummy:

He still annoys Maggie, wanting to play, and she growls and hisses at him. However, they don't actually fight - she's just saying "stay away from me, kiddo." It'll be interesting to see what happens as he matures.

Shared with my kiddo. She loves Boris, too.

            That is a fun video.
It's as if he's saying "I've got to act like I really don't enjoy this as much as I do."
Curious about his tail. Does that shed, and is he uncomfortable having you brush his tail?

              @Rainman he's a pure-bred Maine Coon.

              EVERYTHING sheds.

The breed has been described as "gentle giants," and he certainly is that. He will reach out with his front paw and put it on my face, no claws. He just "touches."

The breed has also been described as a "tail attached to a cat." I'm glad that I started training him early to enjoy the brushing. He comes running when he sees the brush and he loves it - but only that brush. Others, he's not so fond of (and believe me, we've tried several). Of course, at the end of each brushing, he gets a treat - usually an extra-special freeze-dried chicken treat which he LOVES.

As I said, he's not much of a lap-cat, though he's very devoted and faithful. If I leave the condo to take the trash out, when I walk back in, he's waiting in the foyer.

D3 came to visit today, and he was just fine with her petting him, carrying him around, etc. Most laid-back cat ever.

(don't tell Mrs. George, but when The Bee kicks, I'd like to get another MC.

I'm paying great attention. Chloe is apparently not feeling well today - lethargic staying by herself, not eating much. Hoping she's OK. If she's not better tomorrow we'll be going to the vet.

Please update! Chloe sounds like a great cat...perhaps she ate something that disagreed with her?

Do you have insurance for her? We do for Boris and Maggie (but not The Bee). Costs about $30 a month with a reasonable deductible. Totally worth it. Saved me about $600 when Boris had his neutering adventure in February.

We don't. She was hiding under a table in the basement and we went down and loved on her for a while, then she came upstairs. We will forego eyedrops tonight, but she clearly does not feel good. She's generally pretty healthy for a 15 year old cat so I doubt it's anything serious.

Definitely true—even how playful Boris is with Maggie. Exact same with our cats. This is Meatball:

This poor cat. I mess with him relentlessly. He gets picked up for hugs multiple times a day, which he's very conflicted about. He likes the attention, but hates hugs, so he never knows what to do. Even after he completely freaks out, though, he never runs away. Just plops to the ground and waits for pets. Other games include "now you've a blanket over you," "got your paw" and "upside down hugs." As long as he gets attention out of the deal he's happy and puts up with it. (He's young and gets into it with the other cats sometimes, though, and they are all kinds of not into playing. So, the games help keep him in check. But really he's just terribly mess-withable and always a good sport.)

His favorite thing is to bonk his nose onto yours when he's on the couch.

                      Please love yourself.

That's a kitty kiss for you. You are loved by this kitty, and can feel very honored to have such affection.

Your kitty is very handsome 😍.
