I saw a shorter version of this story/Harris ad on the news last night.

    Link to video

Premature rupture of membranes at 16 weeks.

"I was denied abortion care. and developed a serious infection that nearly took my life."

Some stuff I really don't understand. If you have premature rupture and an intrauterine fetal demise, most OBs will not perform an "abortion" because the risk of digging around inside a pregnant uterus is high risk for uterine rupture.

I've taken care of patients who've had an IUFD. Standard care was to place an epidural, start pitocin to expel the fetus and sedate the hell out of the mom so she experiences no pain, and little memory.

The only thing that I can see that makes sense her is that after delivery, she had some retained products of conception (not all the placenta delivered) and she got an infection from that.

I'd love to know more, but this ad seems really deceptive to me.

I don’t understand her story either. There’s probably more. She has a nasty incision. Perhaps intra abdominal sepsis. It’s implied she may never become pregnant again.

@blondie said in Ondrea's story about abortion.:

          She has a nasty incision

In the video, at about 1:42. there's a shot of her dressing being changed. Looks like there was some kind of abdominal infection and surgeons didn't want to close the wound, to allow it to heal by "secondary infection." That means that closing the skin would be dangerous by allowing bacteria to fester in the fat and prevent healing.

          https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/types-of-wound-healing#primary

In that quick screenshot, it looks like she also has a pronounced linea nigra, making the wound look darker than it would be normally. However, repairing that nasty-looking scar is something that a plastic surgeon could fix in about 20 minutes of surgery. It is trivial.

She says that "immediately after giving birth" she had the worst pain and was septic. Did she have an amnionitis which caused the premature rupture of membranes?

I really want to know the timeline.

Story never explains that she can't have children again, other than she feels that there are still parts of her that are open.

          Nothing here makes sense.

I wondered of the open incision. I saw the linea nigra. There’s too much missing from her story. It’s a sad heart breaking situation for her.

As far as the loss of the fetus, yes.
As far as requiring major surgery for ... something, yes.
As far as everything else, she's a prop, AFAIT.

Her story has nothing to do with abortion. Change my mind.

Pray that someday you find something you love as much as Democrats love abortion.

                Education is extremely important.
