That’s how many firearms TSA confiscates on an average day.
90% of them are loaded.
Curious what people think is going on. Do people really think you can bring a gun on a plane? Or are these just habitual open carriers that didn’t give it a thought?

How many are legal?

None. I assume they all get charged for the attempt.
Obviously it’s illegal to board a plane with them. I meant I wonder how many were legally owned before they were caught traveling.

Men or women. A lot of people keep a loaded firearm in their smaller travel bag. You know, the one you use for a carry-on or for a weekend car trip?
They just forget.
Of the 18 confiscated, I'm guessing at least 95% fall under forgetfulness or ignorance of the law

So, what do you do with those people?
Confiscate the firearm, give them a decent fine and carry on...

I doubt any of them were like ‘I know it’s illegal but I think I can slide it through the metal detector fast enough that no one will notice’.
Well, maybe just one.

From what I’ve read, a lot of this has to do with the locking case in the bag. Apparently the locking cases that come with most guns don’t meet TSA requirements.
