I think CNBC is about two years behind on this one, but it's interesting how the Tech Sector's employees are being treated.

What? You expect tech to reign forever?
Well, it may reign for a lot longer still, but not necessarily requiring as many human workers.

If we don't find a way for people to make a living in some way, there's going to be hell to pay. I have zero confidence in either corporate or political America (or their global counterparts) to try and do the right thing.

I agree with her and am quite skeptical about AI generated code. In my career, much of my best work was done by divine revelation - in other words my mind was working on a problem while I was not really thinking about it. The answer might come to me while driving or showering or whatever. I'm not convinced AI can keep in mind the many, many things a human programmer can, like security, maintainability, quality and usability of user interface (hell, many humans can't do that), understanding what is likely to be modified in the future and being ready to adjust to that. There are hundreds more of them that I cannot possibly list here.

In 1975 a computer was never ever going to be able to beat a Grandmaster at chess.
Nobody will ever need more than 640K.
I could go on.

AI is made by humans.
AI is a child of man.
Code made by AI is a grandchild of man.
Why did I say man and not woman or humans or something like that? Oh, did I say man? Hmmm.
