I’m absolutely in favor of it. The Government confiscated your money for 40+ years, then when they return it, it’s at 2.4% effective interest? Fuck that. The least they could do is make it untaxed.

Remove the cap to buy a few decades, remove the income tax, and slightly increase the retirement age effective 2044.

Let me guess- you retire in 2043?

There's a movement on around here to exempt anyone over 70 from property taxes. As lovely as that would be it's simply unworkable. Too many local services involved that people do not want to do without.

There's also a more serious movement to do away with state income taxes altogether, said revenue to be replaced by fracking fees and natural gas income. Pie in the sky.

Irrelevant to my point. I’ve been calling for them to raise the retirement age for years. 20 years ago I was calling for it to be 2024. 10 years ago I called for 2034. You can’t spring that change on someone 10 years out from retiring. 50 is the age you can begin catchup contributions, so I think that’s the age that people shouldn’t have their retirement plans fucked with by the government.

I start receiving SS this coming Tuesday. Given that, I expect SS to disappear by the end of the year. The projected expenditures are best used to support our nation's corporations who are the lifeblood of our country.

Around here, they do let you freeze them at 65. It does help.
