According to multiple news articles I've seen, cash is king in many parts of North Carolina.

    Something to think about...

I remember in the August 2003 blackout in NYC the ATMs were all down. I happened to have a few hundred in 20s and gave a 20 or two to a bunch of people I worked with to help them get home.

After that I made a habit of keeping a stack of 20s hidden in the house. I’d occasionally use them to get a discount with a tradesman. At some point I ran out and didn’t replenish.

      Maybe I should.

We always have a cash stash.

I don't keep a lot. A couple of rolls of quarters, a roll of dimes, then enough bills to get by.

I have it where I can grab it, along with my bugout bag.

I’ll probably go back to storing a couple hundred in 20s in a well hidden spot when I move in to my house next month.
