So there are two town FB pages. One the nice and polite one, and another that is a private and uncensored page. The rule is that if you complain about a post, you get banned…
So on the public page, today, a Town Councilman just went on and asked if anybody knows ————————- (one of the moderators for the uncensored page and a former town business owner) to please provide his address and telephone number. I asked “Did you seriously just publicly ask for the community to dox somebody?” He replied “my attorney would like the information”. Me “your attorney has plenty of legal and private ways of acquiring that information”. Him “yep”…
So this councilman is publicly threatening a resident of the town in a very beta fashion…

Free speech is in jeopardy. I really like the 'if you complain you get banned' thing.
I wish FB would spend more time weeding out scammers and spammers than political posts.

For some inexplicable reason I'm an admin on my old High School page . I delete about 3 spams a day. It's the same freaking dumbass message every day, but it never ever gets blocked. I should try posting something obnoxious about one of Britain's many fine politicians and see what happens.

The thing here is the Council Member publicly trying to threaten or intimidate a resident. It’s very possible that the resident did or said something that he’s legally culpable for, but to publicly attempt to intimidate and/or embarrass them? That’s crossing a very serious line.

It's not the smartest move either.
