Yet another data breach - 106 million people

Our credit is frozen and our property has an alert whenever anyone tries to look at the record. Not sure what else can really be done.
The identity protection schemes don't seem to be worthwhile. They only act after the fact as far as I can see. If they would track down and behead the villains, I might be interested.

Not really. Filtering big data is not that hard these days.

Not really. Filtering big data is not that hard these days.
The safety I have in mind doesn't come from a difficulty in filtering a large dataset. The value of the information is lessened if it's understood by the marketplace that the information is no longer private, and no longer a reliable indicator of one's identity.
