    Great playing.

What do you think about Daniels?

I think he’s damn good. Incredible poise for a rookie. LSU strikes again.

If you want a classic pocket passer, they've got another one this year. Nussmeier has thrown for over 1200 yards in four games, completing 70%, with an average of 7.8 yards per catch.

The young man's problem is that he's not real mobile.

Well crap. I had Baltimore pegged to lose this week and you guys for a win. 0-3 is going to be a tough hole…

Yeah, it is. So is Pittsburgh playing Fields or Wilson? I saw some social media stuff congratulating Fields.

Fields played a good game in the same way that Daniels did. Short and sideways passing game, easy completions and YAC. Then a couple of longer strikes. He’s performing better than I would have expected, but I think he’s playing a very limited playbook. Rather than handing him the ball and saying “Go win the game” they are handing him the ball and saying “Don’t eff this up”. Get a couple of first downs and take the time off the clock… They don’t trust him to be the big time QB. I think Wilson starts when he’s ready. He’s a guy that Tomlin would trust, especially in a shootout where you will need to score 35…Sooner or later, that will happen.

But I do think we have a historic defense. This may be our best defense ever. And I mean ever. Our all pro safety has done nothing. Because there’s nothing to do. The D-Line and LVs are locking down the run game and the short pass. The CBs are locking down the WRs. We have 5 INTS in 3 games, and nobody on the team has 2… Cam Heyward is playing like he’s 29 again, Larry O is finally showing that he is a top 30 DL, and Benton is looking like a star in his 2nd year. But the rotational guys (Adams, Leal, and Loudermilk) are playing so well that you want to see them get more reps. But unfortunately, we are forcing 3 and outs, and our offense is controlling the clock, so the D is not getting enough snaps to even rotate. Watt looks like the DPOY, unless he loses it to Herbig on the other side. And Herbig’s our 3rd best pass rusher. Highsmith has been disruptive as hell.

On offense, we’re okay. But we have the best guard in the game, a rookie center that looks like Webster/Dawson/Pouncey Version 4.0, and a 2nd year tackle that folded Joey Bosa like a lawn chair. The tackle is supposed to be on the left, but the guy on the left has just gotten better and better. Our O-coordinator is more interested in beating the crap out of the guys in front of them than scoring 30. He wants the front 7 of the other D to be icing themselves during halftime. He’s running 4 TE sets on 20% of the plays, 3 on 30%, and 2 on 25%. He’s also started running 6 o-line formations.

Chargers are a physical and heavy team. They were a broken heap midway through the 3rd. They had -5 yards in the second half. -5. Of course, they only ran 15 snaps. 4 were sacks, and 3 TFL…

Pittsburgh’s 2nd half? 12 play drive, 12 play drive, 5 play drive (because Calvin Austin found a seam and took it to the house), 10 play drive that ended with 2 kneel downs on the Charger’s 1 yard line.

People are only going to look at the stat lines and scores and think Pittsburgh looks like a mediocre team, but dig deeper and you will see an extremely dangerous team.

I love to see the Bosas get manhandled. His brother was a colossal asshole at Ohio State.

Oh, and defense wins games. Or loses them. See Bengals.

Last nights game was the first in 84 years with no turnovers and no punts.
