I know that there was a city (maybe Philadelphia?) where the mayor said everybody back to the office 5x/week.
"The city depends on tax revenue from restaurants, stores, bars, etc. Less people working in the city, less tax. In addition, he said something like, what about garbage collectors, etc who do not have a choice. Should your salaries be adjusted because you do not have to drive to work?" -
After I retire, I will be strongly in favor of getting all those lazy remote workers back to the office. Because principles.
