Right, free market principle type argument. I have no expectation that your twitter feed is consistent in its application of those sorts of principles. The consistency here is in finding something wrong with something Trump said.

He wants to cap it at 10%. Not a lot of people are going to qualify for credit at that price.

You have a weird obsession with my twitter feed. Given my 20 year posting history, the idea that you imagine it to be some firehose of progressivism is rather strange.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Thank you for making an attempt at an actual argument. People not "qualifying" for credit is the idea behind any usury law.

I'm just noticing how many of your posts come straight out of your twitter feed these days. In fact I don't imagine it to be a firehose of woke; and I've never indicated such. That is your own interpretation.

I'd like to see his Snapchat.

I don't know about this. Laws have put the payday lenders out of business around here, which is good. That was just legal loansharking. I think I'd have to take a hard look at the losses credit card companies take versus the profits before forming an opinion. Generally I'm against too much paternalistic legislation.

One could fashion a non-paternalistic case by noting how much credit card debt is eventually discharged in bankruptcy, which means that loss gets baked into the prices for everybody.

                Negotiating.

Start low and settle in the middle. Certainly needs to be 20% or less.

I also think we need to devote more resources to cybercrime, which I'm sure helps to keep rates jacked up.

I don’t know how many times I have to point out that Trump is a Clinton era Dem. This is right in line with that.

I don't think you will get much vehement disagreement here on that. Anybody who calls Trump "far-right" is just reciting a TDS talking point.

I guess arguments can go anywhere if we abandon any pretense of following them. I didn’t actually say Trump didn’t call Harris a Marxist. I heard him say that during the debate. I attempted to establish that that is a mainstream conservative talking point rather than a MAGA talking point.

Far-right means different things to different people. Some people are very right-wing about immigrants or social issues whilst being being in favour of government intervention economically. Other people are big believers in the free market ruling everything but perfectly happy to let people marry who they want and have intimate relations with farmyard animals if the need takes them.

Trump is a populist more than anything, and rather all-over-the place when it comes to actual policies. People on both the right and left frequently say he's a conservative, despite plenty of evidence to the contrary.

As far as calling Kamala a communist goes, that's about as accurate as calling Obama a Muslim, which quite a few people did.

                              I was only joking

I am guess that you are joking, right?

                                  Just one example

Fox falsely linked Harris and Walz to socialism or communism over 460 times in just 50 days

Fox News and Fox Business have falsely linked Vice President Kamala Harris, Gov. Tim Walz, their campaign, or their policies to socialism, communism, or Marxism at least 466 times since July 23, the day after Harris became the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee.

Fox networks' hosts and anchors most often pushed the claims..., led by Maria Bartiromo (32 claims), Sean Hannity (31), Elizabeth MacDonald (20), Larry Kudlow (19), Jesse Watters (17), and Stuart Varney (15).

Mornings with Maria Bartiromo (63) had the most claims of any individual program over the period, with Hannity (49), Kudlow (44), and The Evening Edit (40) close behind. Many of Fox News' so-called “news” programs also repeated the ginned up attack, with at least 52 claims over the period.

I am speaking from ignorance as I do not see Fox News, but I believe that the hosts listed above would be considered MAGA people.

You're making points that I'm not arguing against. I never claimed that people who love Trump don't call Kamala a communist. My claim is that people who hate Trump will make that claim too, if they're conservative. It's not an attitude exclusive to people who love Trump, which was your original point I was responding to. You could have said that it was about Kamala Derangement Syndrome and I wouldn't have argued. But you called it Trump Deification Syndrome. Anyway, lest we start beating a dead horse and waste the pixels here, I will stop attempting to make this point.

It’s about giving people the resources and support they need so that everyone can be on equal footing, and then compete on equal footing. Equitable treatment means we all end up at the same place. - Kamala-lama-ding-dong
