Wondering about test cross-reactivity?

@Mik said in Wondering about test cross-reactivity?:
Just what they needed.
I'm just wondering if some of those patients were actually COVID positive and the flu screening test was showing cross-reactive positives?
@Jolly This is entirely speculative, but about a week and a half before I went to Italy on February 17, I got some kind of bug. I experienced extreme fatigue and a dry cough, but no fever. I spent one day in bed (unusual for me) and it took about a week to feel better.
Later, after I returned from Italy, I was talking to a customer of mine who works for a hospital lab. He said in January and February they had a lot of flu tests come back negative. In fact, they called other labs to see if they were getting the same results and they were. In my case, maybe it was just a cold or flu, but how to explain all the negatives for flu?

@QuantumIvory Exact same thing happened to my aunt, after she got on some flights from FL to MA in early March.
